Job Description:
- We are seeking a talented Engineering Specialist in Power Conversion to join our team in Aachen/Bonn, Germany. In this role, you will execute innovative projects centered around the energy transition and digitalization, including but not limited to Distributed Energy Resource management, integration of new grid services, enhancing power quality, developing EV charging solutions, and advancing monitoring and maintenance strategies. You will report to the Regional Team Lead and play a crucial role in identifying key technical gaps while influencing the technology roadmap for our power systems products and services. This technical position encompasses a full range of responsibilities from design and implementation to integration of envisioned solutions.

Key responsibilities for this role include::
- Develop and design new technologies in both AC and DC power systems, helping our products and services stand out in the emerging market., Design, implement, and validate control and optimization concepts for various energy system applications., Implement innovative concepts and solutions into prototypes and pilot projects, conducting feasibility studies., Act as a subject matter expert, actively participating in industry and technical groups., Support the team in Aachen/Bonn in establishing new research programs., Drive innovation by challenging existing design processes and securing intellectual properties through patents and publications., Serve as Principal Investigator during project proposal preparation, execution, and reporting.

Qualifications:
- PhD degree or PhD candidate close to graduation in Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- or a related field from an accredited institution. A Master's degree in the same fields is acceptable.
- Proven experience in developing and designing high-quality technology solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in areas such as EV charging
- vehicle-to-grid applications
- power systems automation
- building energy management systems
- and hydrogen systems for both stationary and transportation uses.
- Strong background in integrating and deploying control and management algorithms in field tests and demonstration pilots.
- Expertise in integrating generation and storage technologies at demonstration sites.
