The Field Service Engineer will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance including installation and training on chemical, biological, radiation, and explosive detection instruments in-house and/or at customer sites. This position is located in Frankfurt, Germany.

The following tasks will be performed by the Field Service Engineer::
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, biological, radiation and explosive detection products and services., Perform installations of hardware and software in the field., Provide training on product hardware and software both in-house and in the field., Troubleshoot and repair detection instruments, both in-house and on-site., Manage and resolve customer and distributor concerns professionally and responsively., Document techniques and solutions in the product knowledge base., Participate in ongoing internal training programs., Travel is expected to be approximately 25%.

Qualifications:
- Education in chemistry
- chemical engineering
- biotechnology
- electrical engineering

- or a related field with a close connection to analytical chemistry.
- Successful completion of a degree or training as an engineer or technician with a focus on instrumental analysis and radiation detection instruments.
- Interest in instrumental analysis
- with practical experience in GC/GCMS and LC/LCMS preferred.
- Good knowledge of electronics
- vacuum technology
- and mechanics.
- Solid IT knowledge including basic programming and PC/network configuration.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Willingness to travel to the United States for training purposes.
- Fluency in English.
