Job Description:
- We are seeking a dedicated PhD candidate to contribute to innovative therapeutic advancements for Huntington's disease, a severe neurodegenerative disorder. The role involves working on a project aimed at innovating methods for the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of this condition by utilizing advanced imaging techniques to monitor the lymphatic system. This position is a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful research that can lead to significant therapeutic breakthroughs.

As a PhD candidate, you will be responsible for conducting research that involves advanced imaging techniques and data analysis.:
- Utilize novel animal models to visualize brain lymphatic vasculature., Implement imaging techniques to monitor the lymphatic system in Huntington’s disease mouse models., Capture detailed images of the meningeal lymphatic vasculature using advanced imaging platforms., Organize and prepare imaging data for subsequent software development., Test mHTT-lowering therapeutics in the developed HD animal models., Validate the software’s effectiveness in quantifying improvements in lymphatic function and determine optimal therapeutic dosages., Conduct behavioral tests to assess cognitive and motor functions.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in natural sciences
- Essential experience in animal handling
- with a preference for neurodegenerative models. Certification in animal handling and care or completion of a FELASA course is highly desirable.
- Advanced imaging skills
- with experience in confocal and two-photon microscopy as well as in vivo imaging systems.
- Experience in administering and evaluating therapeutics in animal models
- particularly with previous involvement in behavioral tests to assess cognitive and motor function in mice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A passion for research
- a keen interest in exploring neurodegenerative diseases
- and a strong ambition to contribute to therapeutic advancements.
