Job Description:
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to play a vital role in enhancing and securing the Information Technology infrastructure for our client, the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this position, you will analyze current security measures, identify vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to mitigate risks. You will be responsible for ensuring that all software and hardware systems are fortified against cyber threats. Your expertise will be instrumental in applying best practices as outlined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Risk Management Framework and Cyber Security Framework. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to implement robust security protocols that comply with federal regulations and standards, thereby safeguarding sensitive information and systems.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the security posture of IT systems.:
Conduct comprehensive security analyses to identify gaps and implement compensating controls;; Perform risk assessments and security impact analyses to pinpoint vulnerabilities;; Evaluate security compliance of IT products and develop secure configuration baselines;; Utilize security evaluation tools such as Tenable Nessus, Nmap, Wireshark, and Metasploit;; Create and present security briefings and reports that summarize findings and recommendations;; Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address security concerns related to hardware and software configurations;; Document Cyber Security requirements and solutions in formal security engineering documents;; Implement IT security solutions and ensure successful deployment within FedRAMP approved environments
