Job Description:
We are on the lookout for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team for a contract position with a State Government organization located in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves working on essential applications that are crucial for the agency's operations, utilizing Agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement. The primary focus of this project is to modernize the UI Tax system by re-architecting its components to adopt leading-edge architectures and frameworks. This modernization initiative aims to enhance the services provided to both agency staff and end-users, while also preparing the agency for future technological advancements. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be pivotal in the implementation and operationalization of cloud infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining efficient AWS infrastructure, managing various AWS services, and ensuring high availability and optimal performance of services. You will also be tasked with creating unit and integration tests for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), implementing CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with software engineers to optimize performance. Security best practices must be integrated into all aspects of your work.:
Provide technical leadership in implementing AWS cloud infrastructure;; Act as a developer advocate for cloud capabilities;; Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK;; Manage and configure AWS services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, and RDS;; Create service mesh in EKS cluster;; Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines;; Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues;; Collaborate with engineers to enhance application reliability
