Job Description:
Rhymetec, established in New York City in 2015, has been steadily growing in the fields of compliance, cyber security, and data privacy. Our core mission is to expedite compliance for our clients, allowing them to concentrate on their primary business objectives while alleviating the challenges associated with developing effective and compliant information security programs. We are currently on the lookout for a Junior Penetration Tester to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. In this role, you will collaborate with seasoned security professionals to detect vulnerabilities across diverse platforms. You will be tasked with conducting external network penetration tests, as well as performing web application penetration assessments. The ideal candidate will possess a solid grasp of penetration testing methodologies and have practical experience with industry-standard tools. You will engage closely with senior team members to pinpoint security vulnerabilities, assess potential risks, and generate actionable insights aimed at enhancing our clients' security frameworks. This position is particularly suited for individuals with up to two years of hands-on experience in IT or with cybersecurity tools and methodologies.

As a Junior Penetration Tester, your primary responsibilities will include the following::
Conduct vulnerability scans utilizing tools such as Nuclei and Nessus;; Perform external network penetration tests to uncover and exploit security weaknesses;; Execute web application penetration assessments using Burp Suite Pro and similar tools;; Analyze results from tests, document findings, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders;; Work alongside senior testers to refine testing methodologies and approaches;; Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and cybersecurity best practices;; Assist in developing actionable remediation strategies based on test findings;; Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative knowledge-sharing initiatives;; Engage in client meetings to present findings from penetration testing reports
