As the Protein Production Manager, you will play a key role in managing protein extraction processes and crop production.:

Identify and evaluate potential service providers and partners for protein extraction from pilot and large-scale grain volumes, particularly peas, across various applications., Organize and oversee the extraction of protein from protein crops through service providers to support product development initiatives and commercial activities, ensuring consistency in scale-up processes., Assist in developing lab-scale protein extraction processes that simulate industry conditions., Manage the off-season production of protein crops, including planning, selecting, and overseeing contract growers, as well as coordinating sampling, harvesting, and logistics., Collaborate with internal plant breeding and seed production teams to align crop production activities with protein extraction capacity and volume planning., Establish and maintain professional inventory management from seed to protein., Continuously seek new strategies to enhance cost efficiency and improve protein quality parameters., Embrace the opportunity to be a significant contributor to a new initiative within the rapidly evolving plant-based food ingredients sector.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in food engineering

• Professional experience in protein crop processing and protein extraction industry is preferred
• Experience in agricultural crop production in both field and controlled environments

• Hands-on approach with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving
• Innovative mindset with the ability to think outside the box
• Strong networking skills and experience in interdisciplinary teamwork
• Fluent in English and German
• Valid driving license essential
