YOU...:

    act as the primary contact for all battery tests and manage the entire testing process from requirements breakdown and concept development to execution and data analysis, set up and execute tests on small and large-scale prototypes, providing valuable feedback for electrical, thermal, and mechanical battery engineers as well as production teams, work with multi-megawatt battery systems, planning tests and aligning with stakeholders, as well as planning and setting up labs and lab equipment, collaborate closely with other integration engineers, particularly in battery development, analyze test data, interpret results, and be responsible for planning, setup, and maintenance of test spaces and equipment, design and operate test benches for electrical, electro-chemical, and electro-mechanical components, including battery abuse tests, test components for electrical and thermal performance, and mechanical, abuse, crash, and environmental behavior, coordinate, prepare, and execute tests of battery cells, modules, and packs, as well as electrical parts and components according to CS-23, DO-160, DO-311 and other standards, both in-house and with partners, provide critical feedback to stakeholders regarding design changes, process adaptations, and software bug fixes, support production planning and end-of-line test setup, and work on ad hoc tasks or projects as assigned by management, work with the BMS system and test bench software, creating post-mortem analyses and detailed reports

Qualifications:

  • possess a master's degree

  • or equivalent in electrical

  • mechatronics engineering or a related field
  • demonstrate strong knowledge of working in electrical labs and testing practices
  • have substantial hands-on experience with battery systems
  • understand BMS functions
  • CAN systems
  • and general test bench software
  • experience with electrical and battery testing equipment like high power supplies
  • loads
  • data acquisition systems
  • battery test systems
  • familiarity with battery module and system testing equipment such as AVL
  • Kratzer
  • Basytec or similar
  • ideally hold EFK +AuS status/experience for high voltage systems or equivalent hands-on experience
  • knowledge of battery systems
  • particularly lithium-ion batteries
  • with experience in automotive or aerospace fields preferred
  • fluent in English or German
