Research Scientist - Cellular Assay Development
Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-driven Research Scientist to join our team in Berlin-Adlershof. The primary focus of this role will be the development of cellular assays utilized for the characterization of antibodies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative therapeutics targeting tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks centered around cellular assay development.:
- Develop and establish in vitro cancer models in both 2D and 3D formats, Generate and characterize stable knock-out and knock-in cell lines using techniques such as CRISPR/Cas, Design and perform functional cellular assays to validate monoclonal antibody candidates, Conduct experiments to explore the activity and mode of action of monoclonal antibody candidates, Analyze carbohydrate structures in the extracellular space, Establish, optimize, characterize, and validate cell-based analytical methods, Analyze and interpret data according to project needs using software such as R and Prism, Stay informed on scientific advances in the field through literature and conferences

Qualifications:
- PhD in Life Sciences with a focus on immunology

- obtained within the last three years
- Extensive hands-on experience in cell line engineering and flow cytometry is essential
- with experience in primary immune cell culture considered a plus
- Proven experience in designing
- executing
- and analyzing cell-based assays for proliferation
- cell death
- adhesion
- migration
- and other immune-oncological assays
- Experience in 3D cell culture and isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles is highly desirable
- Data analytics experience using R or Python is a valuable asset
- Strong ability to design and execute experiments
- critically interpret results
- and effectively present data
- Fluency in English is required
- and a work permit for Germany is necessary for non-EU applicants
