Job Description:

We excel in the reception and distribution of geodata and lead in data refinement and geoconsulting due to our extensive expertise. Our international and interdisciplinary team sets standards for individual consulting and state-of-the-art cloud and AI-based solutions in satellite-based monitoring for future and sustainability-oriented application areas. To strengthen our geospatial data analytics team at our headquarters in Munich, we are seeking a Technical Project Manager for Earth Observation Processing Chains and Data Analytics. The results of our work are utilized by authorities, companies, and academia worldwide for further analysis and decision-making. Our data analysis capabilities provide thematic and statistical information at various spatial reference levels both locally and globally. Processing large volumes of satellite data using innovative analysis methods within cloud infrastructures has become essential and enables the creation of land cover products on a continental scale as part of the EU’s Copernicus program.

The Technical Project Manager will oversee the analysis of Earth Observation data, ensuring all technical and technological conditions and workflows are met within time and budget constraints.:

    Ensuring that the technical and technological conditions and workflows required for the analysis of Earth Observation data are in place within the time and budget constraints, Coordinate a project team with up to five data scientists, data engineers or software developers, Interface between the project manager, project staff and customers regarding technical matters, Make decisions on technologies and workflows

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Science or Engineering
  • such as Geoinformatics
  • Remote Sensing
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science or similar
  • At least five years of professional experience in developing methods and software for the exploration of geographic raster and vector data
  • Professional experience in team management
  • project management or mentoring
  • Profound experience with remote sensing and geodata
  • Extensive knowledge of processing remote sensing data using Python
  • Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning methods for regression analysis
  • image segmentation
  • image classification and object detection
  • Fluency in English (at least level C1 according to the CEFR)
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team with a broad variety of technical skills within an open and creative work environment
