Job Description:

    We are looking for a motivated and passionate intern to join our innovative team based in Berlin. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our advanced quantitative investment systems. As an intern, you will gain valuable experience in building and maintaining research infrastructure, which includes designing scalable software systems for extensive financial research and backtesting. You will also optimize existing code to enhance performance and scalability, ensuring effective execution of large-scale modeling and simulations. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable code following best software development practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. As a Quantitative Software Engineer intern, you will be responsible for a range of tasks designed to enhance our quantitative investment capabilities.:

    Design and implement scalable software systems for financial research and backtesting., Optimize and parallelize existing code to improve performance., Write clean, modular, and maintainable code while following software development best practices., Refactor existing code to simplify and enhance codebase readability., Develop tools for model explainability and visualization of outputs., Collaborate with researchers and engineers to address technical and business needs., Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical team members.

Spoken Languages:

Skillset:

  • Proficiency in Python and its libraries such as Scikit-Learn
  • SciPy
  • NumPy
  • and Pandas.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Understanding of machine learning and applied statistics.
  • Ability to write maintainable and well-tested code using tools like Pydantic and Pytest.
  • Interest in financial markets and quantitative investment processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Software Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • or Statistics.
  • Strong foundation in programming with Python
  • including experience with libraries for machine learning
  • data analysis
  • and financial modeling.
