IT Cybersecurity Specialist

Job Description:

    The IT Cybersecurity Specialist plays a critical role in protecting and securing the information systems within the Department of Homeland Security. This position involves developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the reliability and accessibility of information systems. The specialist will also be responsible for creating systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures. Candidates should be proficient in participating in the design of networks and systems to apply appropriate security policies. Additionally, the role includes the maintenance and administration of IT infrastructure while ensuring that all operations and maintenance activities concerning systems security are meticulously documented. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to enhancing national security through effective cybersecurity practices.

The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to safeguarding the Department's information systems. These tasks will include but are not limited to the following::

    Developing and enforcing policies and procedures for information systems security.;; Creating and maintaining systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery protocols.;; Engaging in the design and implementation of secure networks and systems.;; Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and administration of IT infrastructure.;; Documenting all systems security operations and maintenance activities meticulously.
