Job Description:

We are in search of a highly skilled IT Security Specialist to join our team in a fully remote role. This vital position is centered on supporting and evaluating security requirements for a major application and infrastructure modernization project. As an essential contributor, you will assess critical documentation, identify potential security risks, and assist in developing effective mitigation strategies that align with established security and privacy standards. Your expertise will be key to ensuring that our systems and applications maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks while protecting sensitive data from evolving threats.

As an IT Security Specialist, you will be tasked with several critical responsibilities that are essential to maintaining our security posture.:

Design, implement, and monitor security protocols to protect computer networks and sensitive information.;; Continuously evaluate development workflows and propose improvements to enhance the security framework.;; Collaborate with the Information System Security Officer to manage system security plans and ensure that systems maintain authorization to operate.;; Ensure security compliance for applications and systems hosted in cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.;; Oversee the security program for various applications and systems in accordance with regulatory guidelines such as NIST, HIPAA, and MARS-E.;; Work closely with Operations and Maintenance and Infrastructure teams to ensure adherence to information security policies.;; Assist developers and engineers in meeting security requirements without causing significant delays to project timelines.;; Aid in automating Disaster Recovery solutions, including alert notifications and data backup processes.;; Contribute to the establishment of security event logging and monitoring practices.;; Conduct internal assessments of security controls to ensure compliance with established regulations and technical standards.;; Track and monitor remediation efforts for audit discrepancies through established action plans.
