Information Security Analyst

Job Description:

    As an Information Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the technology assets and financial information of our members. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data from both internal and external threats. You will collaborate closely with the Data Security Administrator to develop strategies and solutions that enhance the credit union's overall security posture. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring security systems, analyzing vulnerabilities, and conducting training sessions for staff to promote a culture of security awareness. Your proactive approach will be vital in responding to security incidents, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position demands a keen analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization.

The Information Security Analyst will undertake various responsibilities to ensure the security of the credit union's information assets.:

    Assist in researching and implementing information security solutions.;; Oversee access controls and methods of information sharing.;; Provide insights into antivirus and malware defenses.;; Recommend strategies for vulnerability assessments and internal penetration testing.;; Deliver security training sessions for staff members.;; Conduct simulated phishing campaigns and audits.;; Support external audits related to Information Security and GLBA.;; Respond to and remediate security events swiftly.;; Monitor security alerts and document security policies.;; Implement and maintain malware prevention and intrusion detection systems.;; Analyze unusual or suspicious activity and recommend resolutions.;; Prepare and analyze security incident and event log reporting.;; Assist IT staff with technology needs as required.;; Engage in Information Security projects and initiatives.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Risk Management or related field preferred
  • Two years of experience in an Information Security, Information Technology, or Risk Management position required
  • CEH, CISSP, or CISM Certification may substitute for experience
