TS Penetration Tester

Job Description:

    We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Penetration Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Cybersecurity Integrity Center (CIC) within the Department of State's Bureau of Information Resource Management. This position will primarily be based in Beltsville, Maryland, with occasional responsibilities in downtown Washington, D.C. The CIC is responsible for comprehensive cybersecurity monitoring, threat analysis, incident response, and infrastructure remediation across the entire State Department's IT landscape. This role requires a deep understanding of offensive cyber operations, enabling the emulation of adversary tactics to thoroughly test and enhance our preventative, detective, and response controls in a global context.

As a Penetration Tester, you will engage in a range of critical cybersecurity functions aimed at identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities within the Department of State's systems.:

    Conduct detailed penetration testing on Department of State systems.;; Evaluate and remediate security vulnerabilities through comprehensive assessments.;; Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity measures.;; Perform technical evaluations of vulnerability mitigation actions and provide strategic recommendations.;; Develop and implement strategies for cyber defense technologies within the CIC.;; Conduct assessments of threats and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate countermeasures.;; Generate network maps to visualize the organization's systems and digital infrastructure.;; Maintain existing CIC cyber tools and technologies to ensure optimal performance.;; Diagnose and prioritize anomalies in cybersecurity defenses.;; Document security issues from offensive operations clearly for stakeholder reporting.;; Provide guidance and recommendations to close identified security gaps.
