(Junior) Data Scientist
Job Description:
- We are in search of a motivated (Junior) Data Scientist who will play a pivotal role in advancing the field of data and artificial intelligence at Lidl Germany. In this position, you will collaborate closely with various departments to leverage analytical methods to enhance operational processes and facilitate informed strategic decisions. Your business acumen combined with your data science expertise will be instrumental in driving the data and AI initiatives at Lidl Germany forward. You will work to identify key questions with subject matter experts where data science can deliver significant financial benefits and become an integral part of Lidl's global data and AI community. You will apply a wide range of statistical and mathematical methods, along with machine learning techniques, to assess initiatives, develop forecasts, and assist in optimizing business processes, utilizing our comprehensive and modern cloud-based big data platform. Additionally, you will cleanse and integrate relevant data sources to provide a solid foundation for further analysis. You will engage in projects within interdisciplinary agile teams and regularly present findings to stakeholders and management, showcasing your analytical insights.

Qualifications:
- Completed degree in (business) informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, with a focus in econometrics or data science.
- Strong command of German (minimum C1) and English (B2) language skills.
- Proficient in regression analysis and machine learning techniques, with experience in tools like Python, Spark, or R.
- Familiarity with statistical and/or econometric concepts such as effectiveness testing, impact analyses, forecasting, selection bias, etc.
