Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time Data Scientist to join our IT & Digital division at our Frankfurt location. This role is crucial in developing and managing metrics and algorithms that aid decision-making and automate processes for experts in German professional and youth football. You will work closely with national coaches and experts to design and create data products, such as dashboards and reports, that will be utilized in the day-to-day operations of our professionals and clubs. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for various tasks that support the development and optimization of football performance metrics.:

Create, implement, and automate data analyses and models using football-related data for specialized experts, including coaches and performance analysts;; Develop new machine learning algorithms and models to optimize performance in German professional and youth football;; Design and develop metrics to monitor performance structures in elite and youth football;; Build applications such as reports and dashboards for national teams and other experts in areas such as game operations and talent development;; Collaborate closely with experts to gather individual requirements and maintain continuous communication

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or a related field (PhD preferred)
• Practical experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
• Strong proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python and R
• Experience with cloud databases and established Data Science frameworks, especially AWS and Apache Spark
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is desirable
