Job Description:

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in System Modelling within a prestigious research institute focused on fusion energy. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of computational models for engineering components, playing a vital role in advancing integrated Stellarator reactor studies and supporting innovative research in the field of magnetic confinement fusion.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be responsible for developing and refining computational models of engineering components and actively participating in Stellarator reactor studies.:

Develop computational models for engineering components such as magnet systems and power balance for integrated Stellarator reactor studies, Contribute to Stellarator reactor studies through interface specification and support, Publish and communicate scientific findings, Supervise PhD candidates and students as part of scientific mentorship

Spoken Languages:

• English, German

Skillset:

• Programming expertise in relevant languages
• Knowledge of computational modelling techniques
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative research environment

Qualifications:

• PhD in physics or engineering
• Strong programming and code development skills
• Experience with complex code frameworks
• Experience in surrogate modelling is an advantage
• Fundamental understanding of magnetic confinement fusion is a plus
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
