Job Description:

As a Product Designer for Switchboard, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience of our customer portal, which is being developed in conjunction with our GitLab Dedicated single-tenant SaaS offering. This position requires a deep understanding of both user needs and technical requirements, as you will be collaborating closely with engineering, product management, and UX research teams. Your main responsibility will be to assess the existing user interface and create a comprehensive redesign plan that utilizes GitLab's design components and patterns. You will be tasked with translating complex backend processes into intuitive designs that resonate with users, while effectively communicating your design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to influence the user experience of a highly technical product and make a significant impact on how users interact with our platform.

Your primary duties will include defining product goals and strategies, as well as conceptualizing and executing design iterations to enhance user satisfaction.:

Collaborate with UX researchers, product managers, and engineers to develop new features;; Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate your ideas;; Engage with the GitLab community to gather feedback and understand user pain points;; Conduct usability testing to validate design decisions;; Contribute to the development of our Design System alongside the UX team
