Job Description:
- Join our Machine Learning team where your primary focus will be on developing innovative machine learning solutions that support our mission to advance artificial intelligence technology. You will engage in a dynamic blend of applied machine learning and cutting-edge research, particularly in the realms of Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), post-training methodologies, reinforcement learning from human feedback, safety evaluations, and scalable alignment protocols. This role will allow you to collaborate with various leading research teams, solving complex challenges that arise across a diverse spectrum of machine learning applications. You will be instrumental in building a sophisticated hybrid human-machine system that optimizes ML pipelines for numerous industry-leading clients. By utilizing our advanced machine learning models, you will contribute significantly to Scale's growth and product development strategies, which currently process billions of tasks monthly.

As a Machine Learning Research Engineer, you will be tasked with various responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following::
- Research and develop machine learning solutions that enhance human collaboration in the loop.;; Create and refine systems that facilitate the rapid and accurate generation of high-quality ground truth data.;; Explore and implement cutting-edge research on data and post-training techniques to improve the performance of LLMs for our clientele.;; Benchmark existing public large language models and customize them for specific internal needs.;; Utilize state-of-the-art models from both internal and community sources to address real-world problems faced by our clients.;; Assess and enhance currently deployed models by identifying areas for improvement, conducting retraining, and performing hyperparameter optimization before deployment.;; Collaborate with product and research teams to pinpoint potential enhancements to existing product offerings and to support new product initiatives.;; Work extensively with massive datasets to develop both general and specialized models for various products.
