DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

    We are on the lookout for a talented DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic team based in Hamburg, Germany. This team is at the forefront of building advanced machine learning platforms specifically designed for the AdTech industry, processing an astounding volume of up to three billion API requests daily. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in enhancing the team's capabilities to manage the challenges associated with scale and reliability in a machine learning-driven infrastructure. The existing infrastructure has been primarily developed on AWS, utilizing a diverse array of services. However, due to the immense scale, the team faces substantial monthly cloud costs. Your role will involve collaborating with a four-member DevOps team focused on mitigating vendor lock-in by transitioning towards a self-managed and self-provisioned infrastructure, particularly centered around Kubernetes. The team is committed to embracing open-source tools, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to open-source projects. The immediate challenge will revolve around deploying new services into production in a manner that is both reliable and secure. The tech stack includes Kubernetes as the core foundation, with the team being well-versed in Golang (prior experience is not a prerequisite). You will also work with cutting-edge machine learning and data tools such as Kubeflow, Flink, Spark, and Kafka—all deployed on Kubernetes.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will take on several key responsibilities to enhance our infrastructure and deployment processes.:

    Collaborate with the DevOps team to design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure solutions;; Transition existing services to a self-managed Kubernetes environment;; Optimize cloud resource usage to reduce monthly costs while maintaining performance;; Ensure reliable and secure deployment of new services into production;; Contribute to open-source projects and tools used within the team
